Seniors Helping Seniors® of North & East Raleigh was proud to be a sponsor of the Powerful Tools for Caregivers class held at the Rolesville Chamber of Commerce in January and February. Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an evidence-based, self-care education program for family caregivers that provides them with tools and strategies to better handle the unique challenges they face.
The Center for Volunteer Caregiving is presenting two additional free courses for family caregivers; one in Raleigh and the other in Fuquay-Varina. The six-week curriculum has been shown to improve Self-care behaviors (e.g. increased exercise, relaxation and medical check-ups), Management of emotions (reduced guilt, anger, and depression), Self-efficacy (increased confidence in coping with caregiving demands) and Use of community resources (increased utilization of local services).
Wednesdays, March 6 – April 10, 2019 from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM. The group will meet at Crossroads Fellowship Church, 2721 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27604.
Tuesdays, May 7 – June 11, 2019 from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM. The group will meet at Wake County Southern Regional Center, 130 N. Judd PKWY NE, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.
