Seniors Helping Seniors of North & East Raleigh is a member of the Senior Information & Networking Group – Wake Forest (SING-WF).  This group’s mission is to provide a comprehensive resource for non-profit and for-profit senior-focused organizations in the Town of Wake Forest.  Goals include education, outreach, coordination of services, public awareness, and political advocacy for the senior population. Recent initiatives include obtaining designation as a dementia certified community by providing education and training to the local business community and the general population.

Kathy Uveges, owner of Seniors Helping Seniors of North & East Raleigh, is the Vice President of this group whose mission is to assist the Northern Wake Senior Center with fund raising, volunteer collaboration, increasing funds available to enhance the facility, and services offered to their senior community.

Alzheimer’s Association of NC 

Each year Kathy Uveges participates in Advocacy Day.  On this day she joins other advocates from across North Carolina as they converge on the Raleigh state capital to meet and urge lawmakers and policy setters to continue to support the Alzheimer’s key legislative initiatives propelling Alzheimer’s research and support.

Kathy also volunteers as a member of the new Alzheimer’s State Champions program whose commitment is to advance Alzheimer’s legislation at the state level.
